2-step verification is a way to strengthen your account’s security. If it’s enabled, logging in from a new device with the correct credentials is only possible with an additional code sent to the account owner’s phone. This means that even if hackers find out your login information, they won’t be able to sign in to your account without access to your phone.
You can enable 2-step verification in your settings.
Remember that you should link to your account a phone number and email that you always have access to. Otherwise, you'll be able to recover access to an account with 2-step verification only by confirming your identity.
It’s very important that your VK profile has photos in which you can be recognized. If there aren’t any, there’s a risk that you won’t be able to recover access to your account if you lose it.
